Pastor George & First Lady Linda Knight

Elder George L. Knight was born in Oak City North Carolina and son to the late Luke h. and Leah Jane (Ebron) Knight. He was a graduate of the West Martin High School in the town of Oak City. In 1970 Elder Knight traveled to the state of Connecticut where he continues to reside. Through the assistance and support of his employment with much desire to learn after being out of school for several years, he attended the University of Hartford for Electrical Engineering, in addition to online classes at Florida Institute of Technology where he obtained an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.

In 1984 he was baptized in Jesus' name under the late Pastor Marion Fennell. He later married Sister Linda K. White on December 19, 1992 in the city of Middletown CT. Under the leadership of Pastor Fennell, Elder Knight was engaged in several ministerial endeavors that prepared him to embrace the call to be appointed as the 2nd Assistant Pastor of Bethel Apostolic Church.

Elder Knight served in various capacities throughout many years as a Sunday School teacher/superintendent and drove the van for the church. For approximately 7 years, he taught in the Mansion Correction Center in Cheshire CT. The list goes on from caretaker of the two properties owned by the church to cutting grass and washing windows.

His biblical studies in theology included distance learning at Aenon Bible College and training at Apostolic History and Pastoral leadership. He was ordained Elder in June 2003 and a licensed national preacher through the Connecticut District Council where he also serves at the 2nd Vice Chairman. He’s currently the Director of the Connecticut District Council Evangelism Department serving on the CDC license and credential committee for the past five years.

In April 2010 God allowed him to establish a Divine Truth Apostolic Church ministry at Cromwell CT along with a few other faithful followers. It was a very successful and vibrant ministry where the youth were seeking the Lord and being saved. Thereafter, Pastor was called to join the New Covenant Church family in Plainville where he is now the serving Pastor. Nevertheless prior to assuming the Pastoral leadership, with much prayer and seeking confirmation that it was God and not leaders trying to fulfill a position, he received confirmation from God which gave him the assurance that he needed.

Pastor George Knight can attest that God's thoughts are NOT our thoughts. He has made the decision to devote his life and service as a Pastor and is passionate about teaching the true word of God.
